Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, a country in the Middle-East, that is considered to be a holy place for 3 major Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It is home to some of the most sacred sites, making it a significant pilgrimage destination for believers from around the globe. Since it has been inhabited continuously for more than 4000 years now, it makes Jerusalem one of the oldest cities in the world. All in all, it's a melting pot for religions.

If a call a European city 'The Jerusalem of Europe', it must be a holy city for multiple religions. It should be culturally very diverse. Most importantly, that city should be very old with a history of conflicts and eventually, a melting pot of religions and faiths. There are a few different cities that I could think of as being considered the 'Jerusalem of Europe'.
